Travel has been an important component of my work. I was a Textile professional for almost a decade. Downtime and breaks would be spent with craft clusters – rural and urban, in India and south-east Asia. The importance of swallowing ones craft – making it next to skin, doing that leads to happening, balancing skill with gut were some lessons, apart from age old techniques i received from them. Decision of not going to an art school was an unconscious one. Path has been a lesson and a teacher and has been opening newer routes each passing day.
My current practice was an accidental discovery in the studio, which upon later research had resemblances to some old schools of art. Last few years have gone by developing my eco lab, understanding my materials and their behavior and connecting the dots.
